Adoption process

PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE

The first step to adopting one of our cats is to fill in a simple questionnaire to find out what you think about certain issues that are very important to us. The aim of this questionnaire is to find the optimal cat-human combination, so that both will be happy after the adoption. It will also help us to find out what areas we can advise you on to make your experience together a fuller and happier one.
We ask you to answer honestly, there are no right or wrong answers. Take your time, there is no rush.

PREVIOUS VISIT

If your questionnaire indicates that you are ready to adopt, we will contact you to arrange a prior visit so that you and your future friend can get to know each other beforehand if you wish.
The cats are in private foster homes, living with families with their own animals, so they are animals that we know perfectly well and are perfectly socialised.
Sometimes we may ask to see your home or we will ask you to send us photos and videos, why? Because this way we can check if the environment will be suitable for the cat or detect possible conflicts that may arise in the future and help you with any doubts or questions you may have about where it will sleep, where to place its litter box, the adaptation of the cat to the new environment or if it is convenient to take any precaution before the adoption.

ADOPTION CONDITIONS

All the cats we collect and give up for adoption are sterilised or with a sterilisation commitment if at the time of adoption the kitten is too small or if for some reason it has not been possible to do so. The sterilisation commitment commits you as the adopter to sterilise the animal when the time comes. For cats adopted through us we offer a 20% discount at the collaborating clinic.
The kittens will never be delivered until they are 8 weeks old, when they can be vaccinated and chipped.
We do not give cats for gifts or surprises. Neither to minors.

ADOPTION FEE

We ask for an adoption fee from adopters. Why? Because this fee helps us with a small part of the veterinary expenses that we have already invested in the cat since it came to us and to pay for the chip implantation, vaccinations, passport, deworming. We do not keep any of the money, this money is given to the vet and goes directly to the animal's account which, as we said before, will be used to pay a small part of his veterinary expenses. We would like to remind you that we are a couple of private individuals, we do not receive any donations or grants, everything we do comes out of our own pockets.

The adoption fee is 120 euros for adult cats in exchange we will give you a vaccinated animal, with double deworming, with chip, passport and sterilized.

For kittens it will be 85 euros of which 65 euros will go to pay a part of the chip, passport and vaccination and the remaining 20 euros will be left in deposit at the vet for the sterilisation.
We offer a 20% discount for the sterilisation that our veterinary clinic offers for our adopted animals.

THE ADOPTION CONTRACT

If the questionnaire and previous visits are correct, and you give your approval to the above conditions, we will draw up a standard adoption contract.
This contract commits you to keep the cat in a responsible way. In reality, these are very obvious conditions that basically consist of a commitment not to mistreat the cat, to feed and care for it, and not to abandon it again.
With all these formalities, which really boil down to us getting to know each other, seeing that you and the kitten get on well and that you can give it a decent life, we try to make sure that things go as smoothly as possible for everyone involved.

HAPPY ENDING!

At the end of the process, with the cat already in your home, we will follow its adaptation during the first days and we will be attentive to help you in everything you may need for the adaptation of the cat to the new home.
The adoption contract implies a commitment to follow up, just tell us how the cat is doing, send us a photo or video...with this we just want to make sure that the cat and you are happy together and help you in everything you need, of course, if you have any problem before, during or after the adoption, we are here to help you.

Thank you very much for wanting to adopt
